Join me at the Juried Invitational Exhibition…
I am very excited to exhibit in SoJie 12. SoJie 12 takes its name from the first letters of Solo’s Juried Invitational Exhibition. This month is only the 12th one, ever, and 120 other members of the Solo Exhibition group, besides myself, are represented.
This exhibition is based on a workshop, in which I participated, where member artists translated member photographers’ images to traditional art medium.
Winners of the invitational will be announced on August 31st, when a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded in three categories: digital art, photography, and traditional art.
Non members, as well as members, ARE welcome to view all of the work nominated. So I hope that you will click the show banner, above, and follow the link to view my fellow exhibitors. The works are shown “gallery size” and are beautiful, seen together. Each translation follows the originating photograph.
If you do not belong to the group, Solo Exhibition, you cannot participate in commenting; and joining to comment is not encouraged. But you CAN lend support by commenting in my journal, here, about the show.

Congratulations, BB, that is so coolly awesome. I saw some of the steps Janis took in her interpretation of this image, one of my favourites; (unfortunately I wasn’t able to read the entire Journal at the time). It was amazing to see her thoughts put into a visual medium. Lol, I love the way you’ve made the title of this Journal quite the exact opposite of the image, it’s very clever and totally appropriate. BillyBoy, did you know, when you posted, that your image would inspire a tour de force, in the form of a Janis Zroback whirlwind, with all of us followers spinning around the edges? That was fun. And as Dianne Ilka noted, so were your comments and reaction. You were a second player in the production, a narrator who played the part of the “Voice” of the audience.
Your photograph, itself, might as well be a painting, in that you have conceptualized so well the meaning of being tiny before Nature’s expansive awesomeness. The texture somehow keeps me focused on that expansiveness, as each line continually leads to another, such that it’s difficult to take one’s eyes away. Congratulations, Billy, on your exhibit in SoJie 12, and on your fine collaboration with Janis!

Frannie, you so got that right… never in my wildest dreams. And like I said, it’s a pity that we can’t see through all those layers and view the entirety of Janis’ journey in one shot.
But it happened and it’s now part of the rich history of Sojie… all of which happens through your tireless efforts. What you do for the evolution of art within RB (and outside as well) and the inspiration between artists leaves me speechless. Well, almost :-)

Bill, your Photo is incredible, it is the very type that inspires great art. So also did your comments on Sojie12. You spurred us on and on & brought some light-hearted banter to the forum which helped me to ease some of my tensions because of the challenges that I had to go through. Know what you mean… I had an error message at one point that prompted me to start again (maybe it was the end of the ring? Is it possible to have an end to a ring???)… and I hit on some new entries I hadn`t even seen in the event itself. Whew! This thiing is BIG!!

It’s as big as the number of entrants, so yes it’s big….I normally start with me and when it comes back to me again I know I made the whole round…but for that time only, until new people add their journals…
