Bag Wash
I found this going through some pictures a took in the Algarve a while back (on film of course!)... It’s in a small town called Lagoa, whos inhabitants are not necessarily poor, but just awesomely frugal. It amazed me that they actually washed their plastic bags so they could be re-used, even though they got them for free at the supermarkets. Lessons to be learned!
Bag Wash belongs to the following groups:

The “door” is really cool, too. It reminds me of the local corner shops we’d visit as kids.

Thanks guys… and come to think of it Mel, I recall my sister-in-law doing this a while back… and her hubby’s a doctor!

I just showed this to all the girls at work and they reckon bloody good on them!! People tend to think that as far as saving the world they as an individual are only one person, and as such what difference can just one person make.
If everyone took a leaf out of your bag peoples book think of the difference it would make then! We have to start living our lives the best way we can… our planet cries BB.
On a photographic note however, this is damn superb! Love the solid blocks of colour interspersed with that wonderful colour on the fly screen hanging over the door!

My mum used to, and still does, wash out the plastic bags so they can be re-used! Love the rich colours and the coloured plastic strip curtain over the door. – we used a few of them in years gone past Lovely crisp image, Bill.

Never heard of it before, but definetly a good idea we usually just get a large pile and recycle or us them for odds and ends good shot…

thats so funny…my mother in law would totaly do that! =) I always re-use my bags, but I do no wash them first! =) I can hardly handle getting my clothes done!!!

This is a great shot, i love the colour of the wall, it is so strong.
This should be in a magazine promoting recycling-it is a strong image, with an important message.
billyboy, 6 months ago
Thanks again for the response, and Min, maybe it would make a nice illustration for an editorial on recycling. Nice to see that everyone has an opinion on the subject matter in addition to the photographic aspect.

Great shot! It’s almost abstract to see it, but the fact we don’t all do similar things is just as abstract if not moreso.

Now that’s caring for the environment to the hilt!
Only you could create an awesome image from washed plastic bags BB!
My mother SO would have loved you! LOL
A clean and tidy room AND an image of clean plastic bags ( even if you didn’t wash them yourself LOL), oh she would have rejoiced and married me off to you LMAO :D
billyboy in reply to Tracey Mac’s comment, 5 months ago
Cheers Tracy! What’s your mom doing for dinner tonight? Could maybe get her a season ticket too?
Hugs to you both, BB!

lovely simple image.

Well spotted BB, framing and colours are great. The detail is nice and it took me a minute of close inspection to realise that the door is actually one of those old skool ribbon curtains and not rusty bars. Jeez, who does this ? These guys must be savin’ every penny – they certainly are getting ‘bag’ for their buck.
