Windows of the Algarve

Windows of the Algarve

This is a Photoshop collage of 21 different photos taken in and around the Algarve in southern Portugal. All the originals were done on film, so scanning the negatives and all the selection work took lots of time, as did making sure the source and quality of lighting was similar on all the elements. The house originally had that many windows and doors, but I made them all different to underline one of the most endearing aspects of the local architecture.

Windows of the Algarve belongs to the following groups:

European Everyday Life (add the place!), Graphic Editing 101 and Portugal Available for sale as

Greeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints and Framed Prints

    Oh Billy..
I almost want to cry with a feeling I have of seeing your thoughts and your passion for storytelling. To think so wholeheartedly about showing your journey through representing the architecture just by the windows you created on the house, the way of life and the feeling of the day by each person you chose, the birds on the roof the farm land on the left and the sea on the right.. not forgetting the man on the stoop watching the world go by and saying hello to his friends..and you and laundry.. I love the laundry.. What an impressive heART you have for your work, it is a great pleasure to view.

  • billyboy replied

BabyJi, I am so chuffed that you found this and that it had this impression on you… I`ve done lots of this kind of stuff, but this is my fav collage of all time. My heart was so in that patch of the world, and through this I was able to show my love for the landscape, the architecture and the people. Thank you SO much for the fav!
Btw, the laundry… it`s the real stuff… no plastic bags this time!

Hahaha BRAVO.. look like very Miami-Cuban scene. Billyboy what a fabulous work,, incredible portfolio!!

  • billyboy replied

    Hey Lorena!
Always cool when a new face appears and comments on one of my personal favorites. The Algarve holds some amazing memories for me so this picture practically made itself.
Just got back from vacationing in Fla. with family and will get back to your PF when I’ve got the time it deserves.
Btw, my dad’s family is from Phila… he was born in Germantown!
Thanks for the comment and the FAV!!
    See ya later!
