Yeah, I have to say the bad hair made this shot… my day was made by your fav! Thanks for getting off on the hilarity and the cool !!

It’s not always consistent, so the effect often needs to be tweaked a bit. What I did with this is place pieces of fur over the original skin that best fit each area of the face, and use luminosity as the blending mode. This tends to let areas of contour through the fur so it takes on some of the features of the original face. It also was necessary to adapt the color balance of the underlying layer to match the color of the fur. I have to say through that the effect wouldn’t have worked as well here if the original model had been white. I really hope your persevere and nail the technique!

OK, I’ve got to show you the original so you don’t get the idea I’m a magician or somethin’...

So the hair over the shoulder is just about the only part I didn’t touch! But what I dig about your comment is that you mentioned the bells… getting that right was the hardest part. Dragged out the flash rig, tied the bows and shot them myself, then spent hours positioning is PS before I liked the comp. So thanks so much for the fav!

And yeah, you would totally orgasm at the Geiger museum. They had a whole dining room set up with this table and chairs you wouldn’t believe… with totally appropriate artwork on the walls. If you’ve got to see one place before you die, this is it! XO!

PS… just told her to throw her head up and I triggered the flash when the hair was in full flight. Piece of cake.

I’ve got CS2 which has lots of the same features as CS4… but yeah, if you’re working with Elements and you’d like to get into things like composite work and HDR and stuff, upgrading will open up a whole new world. Make sure you’ve got enough RAM in your machine!!
