Kitty Cheese!

Kitty Cheese!

Jeeze, this is the LAST place I’d expect to find him… and the little bugger’s eaten all the Roquefort! Hope he keeps it down… I got a BIG problem with green vomit!!

I shot this years ago on Ilford monochrome film… don’t remember what speed it was… don’t think anyone really cares much anymore. But I SO hope someone asks me how I did the BW conversion…

Thanks for looking!

is’nt lllford a black and white film?

  • billyboy replied

Thanks Nancy, and Ilford is totally a black and white film… which is why this picture is in black & white!

  • billyboy replied

Cheers Jan. I know he enjoyed the Roquefort… smelled it on his breath for a week!

Done, paid happily! On their way.

  • billyboy replied

OK Jannie, so looks like I gotta keep my end of the bargain, yeah? So here it is… my secret to BW conversion procedure. I did it like this:

Removed color film from my EOS Elan.
Loaded Ilford monoschrome film into my EOS Elan.

See? Easy peasiest BW conversion I ever did in my life!
Payment received in full… thanks for keeping your end of the deal!!

Great shot- bet his farts smell a bit rough x

  • billyboy replied

Anita, I actually like the smell of Roquefort after it`s passed through a Siamese cat`s digestive system… not much different from the way it smells when you buy it. So it`s basically win / win. You sassy devil.

ha haaaa of course it was ilford B&W you old bugga you. I remember b&w film, I used to work for a commercial film studio that specialised in all size format, huge works up to 10ft or larger, amazing stuff, but long gone, along with the cameras and chemical baths.

  • billyboy replied

John, you were SO lucky to have that job… there`s nothing better than the smell of film processing chemicals in the morning… such a pity it`s gone and done with. But I`ll take the scent of that perfume with me to my grave.

  • JohnThunderbird

    JohnThunderbird

Yeh I wasn’t involved in the processing but I was there all day in a smaller role, I saw some amazing sized works now I think of it, and this stuff is now considered Museum quality work. I used to help hand retouch spots that showed up on final prints, with warm or cool inks, good job, that took me onto art I suppose.

  • billyboy replied

Those are solid, humble beginnings. It`s what`s so badly missing today.

I figured that’s exactly what you did when I read the word “monochrome” but, I like playing games, so . . . I took the bait! Keeping my end of the deal was easy peasy, too! Thanks for the laugh, Billy – an extra AK & BH for those smiles. I think there are still a couple of reels of “ordinary” black and white film around here somewhere!

  • billyboy replied

There may very well be Jan, but unless you kept them in the freezer, they`ve probably all gone off. I still have 2 reels in my freezer. Might just end up thawing them out and feeding them to Scratch. That`ll make him fart, yeah?

  • clarkey

Curse it all… I’m hungry now!!!

  • billyboy replied

This is beginning to look mighty like a certain other image, Billy – maybe you’ve found a successor??!! LOL

  • billyboy replied

Too true. Long as we keep talking about farts and smelly cheeze and eating animals, I can barely tell it apart!

BTW, I`ll get a Sanctuary post to you re your 20 diffs… I`ll let you know when it`s up!

  • clarkey

    clarkey

LOL. When it comes down the basics, those unfortunate topics seem to keep rearing their (malodorous) heads!

Do you want me to list the differences I found, or are you going to tell me which ones I got right and which ones I got wrong? I’m interested to know and waiting to hear from you, Bill.

oh billyboy. so much bad press for the divine Roquefort. Clearly the clever cat was chasing and caught the invader mouse (which you have flying from your ceiling on a string now). I admire her all the more for eating the cheese, whether she cut it or not is beside the point. And that is one huge cheese holder thing, for serious cheese lovers. I’ve always loved b/w photography.

  • billyboy replied

Hey wait a minute… do you actually suppose the mouse ate the cheese and all this time I’ve been blaming the stupid cat?? Well he could have SAID something, yeah? I really hate it when cats just don’t communicate. Dogs seem to be able to do that no problem!

Honestly Barbara, I’ve never had a piece of cheese in this house big enough to fit that cheese holder. So consequently, the only time it was ever used was to take this shot. Go figure!

Thanks so much for checking this out. I so dig it when you make me realize how silly I am for doing dumb things with stupid cats!

Jeeze, it’s only two years since I stopped using film and it feels like 20! Don’t even know if I could get BW film processed these days… and I’m way too lazy to find out.
And believe it or not, Scratch turned 13 last Friday and he’s MASSIVE and weighs a ton. Go figure. Still handsome though, and he knows it. Siamese… whatdya do with ‘em?

Cheers for digging this, it’s one of my personal faves but never got much attention here. And many thanks for faving this and Algarve dogs. Yer such a diamond!!
