Checkmate
This was a commissioned work for a play in which an old black man plays the devil for his soul. The hardest part was figuring out a checkmate (by the devil), but this man believes in the LORD and if one knows chess, you will see that he has a move out of checkmate in which he actually is able to put the devil in checkmate.
The man who posed for this is actually a chess player on the chess board and in the spiritual realm as well.

That jar is for the soul of that man. the one’s on the shelf on the fireplace are from those who had lost. I did this for a play to fit their concept.
