'Beholding as in a Glass' 2 Cor 3:18

The other day As I was walking byA mirror, I saw looking back, an old guy.He was looking at me as if to say,‘Where did my life go’As I looked back at him, I reflected,For MY life has gone where I least expectedI said ’I could tell you stories that would make your hair curl,If you had any !’Now in my hand I had a good book,The Bible, in the mirror, reflected — just take a look.Looking in to the mirror I could see the start,The old man was looking at the end…Could you just reflect on this with me?Put something between you and a glass, and do you see? That you not only see yourself,But also both sides of something. My brain was whirring, clicking,Catching ideas, not quite sticking. Then I took hold of an elusive thought -- The Bible is God’s looking glass !The book I held contains the Word,Sharper than any two edged sword,And yet it is God’s mirror,It is His perspective. This is something all can doWhen reading Testament, Old or New….Reflect upon that written wordTo see another angle.Do this diligently, then one day great surprise,You will see yourself through Jesus’ eyes. Then the old man will not need to say“Where did my life go?”Bill Lee 8/12/10
