I had an email via my website suggesting I should do some homage pictures of other pin-up artists work. I thought I’d try one of Mike Ludlow’s pin-ups first.

Now obviously I didn’t trace it, that would be cheating, I just used it to base my own version on. I loved the hairstyle of his original 1957 pin-up but I opted for a longer haired version. Her eyes looked really great in the pencil sketch but in the inking process lost some of their appeal. They’re still good in my opinion but not as good as they were. I also kept the page blank that she’s modestly holding, it was too distracting…. hmmm maybe I’m learning the “less is more” lesson.
