Song of the Moon by Randy Turnbow

Minutes before the moon slides into it’s reposeful slumber, making way for the ineluctable daybreak, a song breaks forth in the iridescence of the paling dark.
- R Turnbow

Canon 7D, f/6.3, 85mm, 1/25 s, ISO-100

The moon captured in the early hours above an Arizona mountain range. Birds layered in PS Elements, additional saturation and final coloring/cropping in PS Lightroom.

I am self taught, with an imagination that will not stop. I started drawing as a kid, and dabbled with correspondence art school but never took art in high school or college because I felt it might constrain me. I was wrong, but no crying over spilled milk.

Well done Randy. Wonderful concept. I had to go for the large view to see that you had really trained those birds really well. Good one mate.

Your outstanding work has been featured in ART UNIVERSE

  • Thank you for the feature and fave Kira. Funny thing about this shot, I completely saw the moon setting by accident and ran for the camera with only minutes before a conference call. I had to get several shots in a hurry!

Normally I don’t accept landscapes, but i find this very poetic, creative and lovely.
I do however share your wish in your reply to Billy – I’m a close crop person ☺but I understand the circumstances as you describe them and you can’t always have what you want, can you ☺
