You sit there alone and think of the past,
Of all those relationships that did not last.
Wondering what it was that always goes wrong,
All those that hurt but have now made you strong.
Thinking of all the suffering and pain,
Of all those times love came and went like rain.
Locking yourself up by yourself alone,
Making your heart feel chewed up like an old bone.
Trying to make sense of the past in your wake,
Making yourself think of changes you could make.
Realizing now not everything is as it looks,
Lining everything up in your mind like some old books,
Sitting alone and dwelling on the past,
Hoping that all this pain and suffering wont last.
Hoping you can forget everything and have a fresh start,
And find that someone special you can hold in your own HEART!
