Loneliness

Sitting in a room alone and cold,
Enjoying your freedom of being single so your told.
Feeling left out alone and unwanted,
The old feelings coming back like being haunted.

Hunting for that one person to show your affections,
Someone who knows how to enjoy the attention.
Someone who would show you respect,
But low and behold you have nothing to expect.

Sitting there amongst the shadows,
Feeling as though you’ve been locked in the gallows.
Forever lost to feelings of love and happiness,
And forever lost to that forever missing caress.

Staring out that window into the cold dark night,
Just wanting to leave here without even a fight.
Wanting to end the pain and the sorrow,
For you know it will still be there when you wake TOMORROW!
