New Lightweight Hoodies. Great for laziness, business, or any other -ness.

I’m married with a son, Richard. We live in Wallsend in the North of England.

I started photography early, my Dad was my mentor. He experimented with many and diverse interests a lot, and so do I. I was introduced to developing and printing at the age of 7 or 8 and I have dabbled with photography throughout my life, but my career took up most of my time and limited my experience. I have also been involved in playing and recording music, also inspired by my Dad. While at University in the 70’s I played bass in a band, and we made some pocket money by playing in the local clubs.

At the turn of the century I discovered digital photography and that opened up a whole new world of possibilities. There is no cost per frame with digital and results can be viewed instantly. This gives the opportunity to review and learn on the spot.

I have learned such a lot about the art of photography since leaving work in 2009. I now have the technology and the time but money is tight. However, there’s a lot more to life than money, happiness is worth a fortune if you can attain it.

My art is eclectic. I will photograph anything and everything. I’d like to do more portraits and studio work, and I have recently bought a 3 speedlite setup including light-stand, brollies and backgrounds, I now just need some subjects. However, the world is full of images just waiting for me to capture!

My son Richard as a toddler

Ah! My son when he was an innocent babe, investigating the air brick of our first house. How he’s changed in the last decades. Picture taken on FP4 and processed and printed at home, rescued from an old storage box and scanned in to preserve the memories.

Artist of the Month

What an honour! I am completely surprised, overwhelmed and immensely pleased to have this accolade bestowed upon me by the Artists Universe group. / There I was enjoying a very cold and wet day in Jesmond Dene taking photographs of one of it’s many scenes using quite a slow shutter speed when Pow! the bridge image I posted from the shoot earned this accolade. / I can only say thank you to M…

Aussie Sat Nav Help

I own a Tom Tom Sat Nav, and it works Ok but the battery does not hold its charge very long any more. This is the third rechargeable battery it has had and, because it is an old model, I am having difficulty in finding a replacement. / I have seen on several web-sites that there are some inexpensive Mio Moov Sat Navs available that provide some additional features that would be quite useful, and …

I'm away but I'll be back, soon!

I received and email from a good friend today. She was concerned because I had not been submitting any work or commenting as much as I normally do. It’s really nice that fellow Red Bubble artists show concern for each other, no matter where they live or what race gender or artistic genre they prefer. A big thank you for showing that you care Barb. / The reason I have been quiet of late is t…
