I could say “here’s a wee touch of fine art to brighten your day”. But what did I say? “Its a rose, a pink and cream rose, and as we all know every rose has its thorns, and this one demonstrated that to me while I was setting up this photograph ….. Ouch! Until I took this I never knew how much texture some rose petals had.”

Inspired by my dad in visual arts and music from a very early age. He mentored me in photography, film processing and printing when I was 7 or 8 years old. He wouldn’t teach me to play guitar though so I had to teach myself, and played bass in a group while I was at University for pocket money. I took early retirement in 2009 and rekindled my passion for photography. My art is eclectic. I’ll photograph anything and everything. The world is full of images just waiting to be captured.

  • Wow, thanks Joy. I’ve just had a quick look at your portfolio. Wow wow! I need a little more time but they’re great. I also was surprised to see a section on guitars! Terrific, do you play too? If you do we could start a long-distance band! LOL :)

this is beautiful!!!! it oddly i know, reminds me of an ice cream I loved as a child it was vanilla and the ice cream man used to dip it in a wonderful rasberry sauce…. so this is delisious and devine :)

  • I remember those days, when the ice-cream man would drive into the street with inappropriate music blasting out to signal his arrival. (“Yanky Doodle Dandy” in the North East of England, I ask you!) We always asked for an ice-cream cornet with monkey’s blood. It sounds so gruesome now.

Thank you for your kind words and rekindling a pleasant memory of child hood, sadly it was so long ago.
