I was watching one of favourite movies the other day, “The day the earth stood still”, whilst supping on a cheeky Shiraz and felt compelled to paint Gort. It’s a bit rough, but so was I at the time of painting…

I remember seeing this film for the first time. Scared to stuffin out of me but I couldn’t look away. It was fantastic. Been a fan of sci fi ever since. This is fab study. I love this and all your work.

man i watched a doco on old sci-fi movies that influenced spielburg, lucas etc and this came up…
i must have watched 5 times over 2 days…it was beautiful…pure…hard to describe why i liked it so much
