I couldn’t be on the internet last night because of the storm. So, I set up my equipment underneath the old apple tree in the backyard while it was raining and I capture this. I know I was taking a big risk but it pay off, I think. Truly, I can say it’s one of the first lightning photos I haven taken. It was the only one out of 11 images I took.

    Yup, thanks for your caring thoughts. After I picked up my equipment and went on the back porch. The lightning struck close in the back field. I wanted one so bad; I was going to take the big risk. Foolish I know but it was a sucess.

    yes, it was a success … I nearly wound up with fried children a couple of summers ago on the outer banks!!!!!! I can’t resist a good thunder storm myself … they are such wonders!!!!

    At my parents home just 500 yards down the road. I was laying chimmey block when the lightning struck the utility pole down the road. I fell it tingling on me. I quit laying blocks for the day and went in the house. I was scared.

    Big D…This is so wonderful and i am JEALOUS. I have never had the opportunity to catch a lightening strike. You have a beautiful view from your backyard by the way…I have only trees, trees, and more trees and can never get an open sky anywhere near my house. This photo is simply awesome! Great strike captured in a lovely setting.
