This is Viktoria, one of two Puma sisters.

Puma’s are also known as Cougars, Panthers and Mountain Lions and are the 4th largest of the big cats. They are renowned as powerful and impressive hunters.

They are large, solitary cats that have the greatest range of any large wild terrestrial mammal in the Western Hemisphere, extending from Yukon in Canada to the southern Andes of South America.

An adaptable species, the Puma is found in every major American habitat type. It is the second heaviest cat in the American continents after the Jaguar.

The Puma’s population is facing a trend towards decline – owing primarily to habitat and prey loss accompanied by predation by their only natural threat – humans.
