In our dreams...
I found this pic of Meg and Zoe holding Axel’s hand and I couldn’t stop the tears. I knew I had to make something beautiful out of it to remember forever.
In our dreams we can be wherever we want to be – I ache to hold my baby boy, to feel his head on my shoulder, his breath on my neck. In my dreams I can hear his wicked chuckle and see him dance again.
The Door
Imagine if you will, a door
There is nothing special about this door
Its white, with a handle at its centre
Just like any other door
Imagine now that the door swings open
Revealing a field of flowers
Spread as far as the eye can see
Imagine then that there is a path
Which winds its way through the field
Meandering here and there
With no real purpose
And on the path is a gorgeous little boy
His golden hair is mussed in the wind
And his laughter rings out to you across the field
You start to call out to him
To call him back
But he is on a journey
To places where you can’t follow
Your heart breaks realising you must let him go
That he is strong and brave
Embarking on a never-ending adventure
Gently you close the door
Knowing that you can open it at any time
To watch him, to remember
With tears streaming down your face
You whisper “Be safe little one”
Inspired by the image Kel created for me after Axel died…

I am sorry Sarah, I do not know you yet but I do know your love is always with your little Son, and his is with you. The ripping wrenching ache, the grief, the yearning. If it helps to produce such as this tender and special dedication then you have bared your heart to all and we suffer alongside you. You have lots of friends with broad shoulders and strong hands. Use them.

Dear Sarah, I did not know….a warm hug for you, from a mother who can’t even imagine the pain you must feel…. the only comforting phrase that comes to mind is from Kahlil Gibran when he says that our sons and daughters are not ours, but …”are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself”.... So hard to give up the sense of posession…. The personal needs and human longing….but, Life is infinite, and so we can have hope and know that our ways and growing paths are eternal…
The image is perfection….
Much love to you and yours…
Sarah Moore in reply to Daniela M. Casalla’s comment, 17 days ago
Thank you so much Daniela, I love that quote and you’re right it is SO hard to give him up – to physically and spiritually hand him over. But he is with us always…xoxo
