This is a great example of your work that’s been acclaimed by many others over time and I look back again and realise that I’d falsely assumed that I had commented prior to this.
Beautiful details that you’ve crafted include the shadow of the cage following the butterfly pointing to a new direction – to a new beginning. The walls surrounding the scene lending to the believe that although the spirit will travel it will never be far away. Add to this a slight sense of loss from its minimalist surrounds – where will the spirit find solace in its new uncharted world?
This is wonderful work Sarah. I’ll never tire of looking at it.

I just realised you are the artist of this stunning work
I was the one who sold it for you at the Rialto Towers Expo in August!
The guy who bought it came back several times and finally when I moved it from the black wall to the cream one he was hooked! he took it there and then, paid me cash wouldn’t let me wrap it so he could show it off on the train home and was very very happy with his purchase.
I had no idea that was your take on it but he read the pic as you said
I then gave him the optimistic view – the butterfly escaped the cage so there was hope it would escape the room too … ask it to come to you as you peer in at it!

I thought the image was stunning “in the flesh” ~ that the quality of the print was exceptional and the framing was exquisite!
So glad I found it is you that created it!
