The bush fire on Sunday 6th Feb 2011 burnt out the forest on the hills above Kelmscott and intruded into suburbia. A layer of ash covers everything now.
After 3 days the fire is still smoking.

Been taking photos for 35 years, worked as pro photographer and darkroom tech. 14 years doing photofinish at the horse racing. Now I just take photos for myself and play with special effects in the computer.

    It will probably smoke for alot longer yet. When we had the Bridgetown fires they were still smoking about 2 weeks later. Surprising though how quickly new green shoots start appearing.

  • seen the same when Bungendore Park burnt a few years ago, smoked for a week, then in spring it will bloom.
