What Secrets?

What Secrets?

I forget the exact location but I spotted this dwelling on my travels in Scotland.

It seemed as though it was only in need of a bit of TLC so I asked a couple of locals if it used to be an Inn or parish building. The reply was, “no, just a house”, and then they locals turned and left without another word…..............Almost as if there was some mystery surrounding it that they didn’t want to talk about…...........hence the title

A fabulous shot, local are funny things, if they cause enough gossip and surround it in mystery they probably think they will get more money for it!
The picture captures the mystery and times long passed.

  • bidkev

    bidkev

Yeah Rich. It had 4 chimneys with two stacks on each which made me think perhaps it had been an inn with all those rooms and the fact it was at the roadside. It was in good nick from the outside.just all boarded up.

    Thanks for the visit mate.

This is the best I have seen yet. beautuifully composed and well framed. Colour is just right and lighting. The old house would have seen much laughter, sorrow and hardship in its time. It is so sad to see homes like this left to fall. Its exactly the same as in Ireland.

The kind of place I would dearly love to live in… unfair and frustrating that people let a place like this go… but then, if it does harbor some dark secret, that may be the reason it has been left to stand alone against the elements. Beautiful shot…

I’m with you … surely something tragic / mysterious afoot here!!! Have you ever read “The Uninvited” by Dorothy McArdle???
