Designed in 1922, this neoclassical building was constructed by the Masonic Alliance and served as the home of numerous organizations over the years. Incredibly, the structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
When the Masons sold the temple in the mid-1980s, it was converted to a banquet facility and offices, but closed in 2006. The building has suffered from deferred maintenance, resulting in water infiltration and damage to architectural features that has prompted the city of Aurora, Illinois to take the matter to court.
