Remembering!!

Thank you to Dottie for inspiring me to write this poem in dedication to my parents who have long passed away … I will aways miss them and this is dedicted to them.
Please take the time to look at Dotties beautiful image REMEMBERING HERE

Remembering!! belongs to the following groups:

"Exceptional Ekphrasis"

Why did you have to leave …
Why did you go away?
I wanted you both to be with me for ever and a day.

I will always remember the things that I hold so dear
about the love you gave me, the happiness and the cheer.

But the body does grow older
and weakness does take hold.
You fought for more time but finally
it was time for you to go ….

Time marches by without you
... I remember you both each day
And though I know the answer …
I often hear my heart say
Why did you have to leave and why did you go away?

Seeing how this is an inspirational thing, and a beautiful one at that, you need to place this into the groups Exceptional Ekphrasis & All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philisophical

  • Bev Woodman replied

Thanks Larry – I have placed it there but Chookas must be doing ‘other things’. Hopefully it will be accepted there. Dottie’s white rose inspired these thoughts.
