On the Road to Cassilis NSW Australia by

I love old shacks and have been known to come to an abrupt halt or turn around to make sure I got the shot. This quaint beauty was sitting waiting for me on the road from Willow Tree to Cassilis in NSW Australia. Its a shame the canola fields were so far away as it would have been wonderful to have had that bright yellow surrounding the house. Still, I was happy with the long grass as it did blend in well with the derelict nature of the old shack.

Taken with the Nikon D700, Nikkor 28-300 mm lens at 116 mm, F11, 1/60 sec, ISO 200, +0.3, hand held.

I love the challenge of capturing what I see, admire and love. To share it with you is an added bonus. Photography to me is recording history. Please explore my galleries and enjoy♥

Oh, that I were on the road to Cassilis… ‘envy’ :)

Ripper of a find, perfect composition!

How fabulous this would look framed and hanging on a main wall of anyone’s home!

  • Thank you Donna for your comment, favourite and support … I am always on the lookout for these shacks and I wasn’t disappointed on this trip. I plan to head further out of this road in a couple of weeks time so fingers crossed for some more of these beauties♥

    Hi Bev
Great find and photo, there is some very old cottages in and around this area, Willow Tree was my old stamping ground as a young lad.
    Cheers
    Rod.

  • Thanks Rodney … my hubby (Phil) grew up at Kankool so we had a weekend back there recently. We stayed at the Willow Tree pub and you might be interested to know it has been fully renovated and is magnificent. So pleased you liked this one♥
