I always love to capture these white snow gums at Hill End, tucked up high on the Bald Hill Lookout Road. You need to wait for even light and we drove past a few times over the long weekend taking a peek to see if the light was right. During our visit to the rifle range on the Sunday to watch the Muzzle Loaders in action I was pleased when the sun hid behind a cloud and presented me with this light, The shooters must have thought I had gone made because one moment I was following them with my camera doing my own shooting and then I was running into the bush to capture this image. Never mind, we all agreed we all had to be crazy to be doing what we were doing … and having fun along the way.
Hill End is located in the Central Western area of NSW just a short drive from Mudgee or Bathurst. Once a gold mining area, today it is under the protection of the National Parks and preserved for all of us to enjoy.
Taken with the Nikon D700, 28-300 mm lens, hand held, lighting supplied with the compliments of the ‘man above’ – thank you.
