Bench of Memories - Wynstay - Mt Wilson NSW Australia by

This image is dedicated to the Mt Wilson community who have shown their strength and community spirit over this last week in banding together to assist each other in the devastation of this magnificent garden area. Strong winds cut through the high parts of the village on the 5th & 6th July 2011, bringing down many of the ancient trees in the area and cutting off power and access to the area. Luckily there was no loss of life or major property damage however the community has been left with the huge burden of cleaning up and adjusting to the changed landscape on many properties. For more on the storm look HERE

For those of you who have taken photos in the past … you have recorded history♥

The bench in this image was taken 30th April 2011 on the Wynstay property and tells its own story … of memories of days and lives long passed …

lovely photo bev & thanks for the link. It must of been terrifying for all the residents there. the huge trees that have been lost caused by the horrible force of nature will be surely missed. :((

  • Thank you for the comment … when I look through the many photos I’ve taken over the years of Mt Wilson I realise that they are now historic images as the trees that created that scene are now gone in some areas. I know the beauty will still be there and I will return soon to capture that again♥

Nice shot Bev. Sorry to hear of the damage, I’m sure it will come good all be it without some nice old trees. Has been years since I’ve been up that way, must visit it some time!

  • Thanks Michael … I was shell shocked to see images of the area and especially to recognise many trees that I have recorded over the years … its a wonderful community up there so they will have the damaged areas all looking beautiful again♥

Oh no, I had no idea about the damage up there, I knew about the storms just not the damage… It is a beautiful shot Bev :o)

  • Hi Sharon … the winds hit the highest areas so many of the old trees copped it but luckily all should be restored soon … there was no media coverage here at all of this side of the mountain♥
