Grose Valley from Anvil Rock NSW Australia by

I climbed up onto Anvil Rock to get this image and felt like I was on top of the world. The mist was playing games in the valley below as it rose and fell, sometimes hiding the valley below and then as if I blinked, it would clear to reveal the hidden wonders below. The trees below look so miniature with the sandstone cliffs towering above. This is truely a magical place. Anvil Rock can be found not too far from Blackheath in the Blue Mountains National Park. The road in is quite acceptable although can be rough after rain. There is a short walk from the car park to this spot. Also along this road, take the time to stop into Perry’s Lookdown and Pulpit Rock – the latter having a more strenuous walk but quite worth the effort.

Taken with the Nikon D700, 28-300 mm lens and hand held.

I love the challenge of capturing what I see, admire and love. To share it with you is an added bonus. Photography to me is recording history. Please explore my galleries and enjoy♥

Magic shot Bev, looks good with all the mist.
  • Thank you Terry … this was about 4 pm in the afternoon and after a rain shower so the mist was playing around … at one stage it was a complete white out♥
