Nobby's Lighthouse From the Other Side! by

I have so often showed Nobby’s Lighthouse from land, this image is from the breakwall that extends far beyond this iconic landmark and forms a safe entrance the Port of Newcastle in NSW Australia. From the city the sea fog was quite evident but somehow from the breakwall, the view back towards the lighthouse was full of colour with some fog hiding the coastline to the left. The breakwall was alive with families, cyclists, walkers, surfers and people generally enjoying life as we are so lucky to know it.

This image was taken with the Nikon D90, Tamron 18-270 mm lens @18mm, 1/250, F10, ISO 320, hand held.

    good clouds and capture bv

  • Thanks Phil … the clouds were brilliant from this angle, the fog was still lying low off the coast and in this image has completely hidden the ocean baths♥

Been choppy hasn’t it. Makes for a dramatic image though – nice work!

  • Thanks Sonia for the comment and favourite … the ocean side of the harbour was quite choppy but added some contrast to the scene♥

Nice one Bev! Looks like low tide :) We were down at the fort yesterday & it was misty.

  • Thanks Michael … you were probably looking down on me from up there … it was a most unusual weather day but paid off♥
