Nobby's in the Sea Mist - Newcastle NSW Australia by

This is a magical image of Nobby’s Lighthouse looking along the sand dunes of Macquarie Pier and out to sea. I never get tired of attempting different angles and lighting to capture what is an iconic land mark for those who call Newcastle and Lake Macquarie home. It marks the entrance to the Port of Newcastle and has been providing a shipping marker since early settlement. Today the city was shrowded in sea fog and this misty look provided an erie look to the landscape. The skies cast their own magic with their soft lambs wool appearance. I hope you like this one♥

Taken with the Nikon D90, Tamron 18-270 mm lens @ 18mm F10, 1/200, ISO 200, hand held.

I like the people on the Beach, helps form the element of scale although I suspect that you weren’t as far away as this appears because of the lens @ 18mm

  • They do look like specs but I agree the lens has distorted the distance. I have a few of people doing interesting things on the beach as well … will add sometime later♥

Nice shot, Bev. There’s been a lot of sea mist about lately, and probably a good meteorological explanation for it… just dont know what it is. Love those fluffy clouds :)

  • Thanks Susie … the sea mist was definitely to my advantage yesterday in providing these great clouds♥
