St Paul's Presbyterian Church - Hill End NSW Australia by

St Paul’s Presbyterian Church of Hill End is situated in Tambaroora Street and originally started its life as a Methodist Church. Unlike the brick built Catholic Church, St Paul’s is built of local stone and is a magnificent example of craftmanship from the 1870s. Still in service today, it is beautiful preserved and cared for by local parishoners under the protection of the National Parks and Wildlife Service.

The old gold mining town of Hill End is situated in the hills near Mudgee NSW Australia and is worth a visit with its old mining cottages, beautiful buldings of yesteryear, tree lined streets and gold mining history. A quaint step-back-in-time, you won’t be disappointed.

I love the challenge of capturing what I see, admire and love. To share it with you is an added bonus. Photography to me is recording history. Please explore my galleries and enjoy♥

    Great POV Bev..cheers.

  • Thanks Warren … another difficult one to shoot because of the fence but I didn’t think anyone would mind if I opened the gates up for the occasion … its a magnificent old church♥

It’s beautiful stone work isn’t it. Another terrific shot Bev.

  • Thanks Al … the stone work is beautiful and this church in particular has been well cared for and still in use. Actually I think its the only church operating within the township … there is also an Anglican church that is now used for private functions♥

The preservation is beautiful and you have captured it very well. Looks inviting having the gate open. Congratulations Bev.

  • Thanks Anna for the comment and favourite … and especially for your ongoing encouragement. This is a beautiful church … I wandered around it and took photos from all angles but settled for this one. I opened the gates to get a shot from the road looking in and I’m pleased you find it inviting♥

Not as much character as the other church Bev but well framed and photographed.
  • Thanks Terry … they are both completely different and beautiful in their own way but I do admit the red brick of the other and the old fence is great♥
