Ben Bullen Railway Station NSW Australia by

The now deserted and vandalised railway station at Ben Bullen situated in the small mountain village in the Central West of NSW, Australia. The small community is located on the Castlereagh Highway (Mudgee Road) and is approximately halfway between the small hamlets of Cullen Bullen and Capertee, and derives its name from the local Aboriginal word meaning “high, quiet place”. Ben Bullen was established in the early 1880s when the railway was built through this area. Today the railway line is principally used for coal haulage and goods trains.

I love the challenge of capturing what I see, admire and love. To share it with you is an added bonus. Photography to me is recording history. Please explore my galleries and enjoy♥

Nice angle there Bev. It looks good. I must have gone close to this place a couple of years ago. The name sounds familiar.

  • Thanks Michael … the Mudgee road crossed the tracks here so you would have driven past here … it took my eye when we were heading to Glen Davis and despite the rain on the way back I just had to stop♥

A good use of perspective Bev. Sad that it’s trashed.

  • Thanks Julie … unfortunately it has been left to rot♥

The track goes on and on….Nice view Bev.

  • Thanks Michael … it seemed like the track went forever … at least I had a clear view to make sure no train was coming!

Nice perspective, again where one would just passed, by you have given us a great image. Beautifully done Bev!!!

  • Thanks Anna for your ongoing support and favourite of my work … this small railway station looked so forlorn just sitting there by itself, I just had to stop!

Great capture Bev, wonderful perspective….fantastic depth!

  • Thanks Kerry … I took a few of these from quite a few angles – it was sprinkling rain so that gave the colours nice depth♥
