The Arch Tambaroora NSW Australia by

The Arch or this particular one is the largest of two located in the area of Golden Gully in the Tambaroora gold fields just near Hill End in NSW Australia. This area has the most amazing gullies of rich golden soil sculptures caused by the mining and erosion in this once rich alluvial gold mining area of the mid 1800s. Once the area had been worked over by panning and sleucing, miners then started to dig down to bedrock through the ancient river gravels in search of gold deposits. The many years of erosion has exposed many of these tunnels and is an amazing place to hike through, not only for its history but for the scenery. Care must be taken in this area due to the unstable creek banks and tunnels

I love the challenge of capturing what I see, admire and love. To share it with you is an added bonus. Photography to me is recording history. Please explore my galleries and enjoy♥
