It was late afternoon on a balmy August afternoon when I spotted this lone surfer heading for the far end of Nobby’s Beach in Newcastle NSW Australia, where the gentle waves were enticing him to enter and enjoy the water there. As I sat and observed his selected spot, I could truly understand why he chose that area. The rest of the beach was almost flat but on the distant reef the waves were gently building … then curling … then rolling to shore – beckoning him in to play awhile. I watched as he walked into the distance and felt a quite calm envelope me … a feeling of contentment and peace. Maybe if the rest of the world could receive the medicine I received this afternoon on the beach then the world would be a much better place!
