Newcastle Ocean Baths NSW Australia is located within the Newcastle East End Heritage Precinct and has been built on the same rock outcrop as the adjoining Canoe Pool. Next to the baths you will find the Cowrie Hole, a much loved surfing spot for local surfers. The baths were officially opened in 1922 and are surrounded by an art deco façade that has recently undergone restoration to restore it to its former glory. This area is a favourite for bathers and surfers alike and offers a stopping off point along the Bathers Way, a 5 klm ocean side walk that stretches from Nobbys Headland to Merewether Beach.
