I went for a walk out onto the breakwall at Blacksmiths beach at the mouth of the beautiful Lake Macquarie yesterday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to find a jet skier enjoying himself in the waves that roll across the bar at the entrance to the Swansea Channel. This fellow was reaching massive heights on this machine and along with two mates they had the time of their life. A chat with them a little later where they beached at Granny’s Pool revealed that this particular fellow grew up with my youngest son – such a small world!

Well spotted Bev. Great action shot.

  • Thanks Sharon for the comment. Its the first time I’ve tried anything like this and yesterday proved to be so great with these fellows arriving and then the surf lifesavers appeared in their surf boat too so I’ll post one of those later.

  • Thanks James (another thunderstorm by the sounds of it). This was fun yesterday and as its my first try at fast photography, I was pleased with the results.

Yes, I’m off RB in 1 second ! It’s a great capture – very strong edge definition.

great action shot Bev!! Are you turning into Bev the Revhead?? LOL!!

  • Thanks Di (ha! ha!) – I might not come across as this but I have been a drag racer since the 1970s – we still have two cars, a T.bucket and a rail (long skinny one with a parachute). It was always a family affair with my hubbie the driver although I used to race the F100 tow vehicle. Two of the boys used to race motor bikes and we have had a lot of fun over the years. Unfortunately money prevents us from being active these days but it doesn’t take much to bring out the rev head in me – I love the sound of high powered engines and the smell of methanol or nitro. Now your talking!!!

Wow Bev, I’m duly impressed!!! More than that, I’m in awe!!!

  • Thanks Jade – so am I – I was with my brother-in-law and we just kept clicking off as many shots as we could – this fellow was posing for us too as he knew we had the cameras on him. I will definitely be goinng back to this spot as you can sit on the breakwall just metres from them.
