The tide was slowly receding when I took these shots from Bar Beach in sunny Newcastle NSW, looking south towards Dixon Park and Merewether Beaches. The day before had reported huge seas so I thought it was worth a look and was not disappointed. This shot was taken at about 1 pm with the sun reasonably high above and using my Nikon D80 with the 55-200 mm lens and again the Pacific Ocean was a magnificent blue/green colour. I liked this shot mainly because of the three waves rolling in perfect unison with each other before crashing to the shore. ALSO LOOKS FAB AS A GIFT CARD

I love the challenge of capturing what I see, admire and love. To share it with you is an added bonus. Photography to me is recording history. Please explore my galleries and enjoy♥

wow! that blue is intense! Love the capture of the three waves coming in together.

  • Thanks Jen for your comments – these three waves took my attention too – its a shame I hadn’t pinched my husband’s 50-500 mm lense and then I could have framed the three together.

    What a moment.
    great capture Bev.

  • This one is from Bar Beach and the tide was a lot higher than the others from the baths and it seemed to be a lot rougher too. Thanks for commenting.

    Brilliant and stunning work Bev!!!
Those three waves are amazing in their synchronicity aren’t they?!!! : O

There is something so special about the sea, the beach in particular, which many people respond to. I wouldn’t be surprised if you see these cards zooming off the metaphorical shelves!

So evocative and with so many messages and meaning, unique to each viewer.

Brings back many happy memories from my childhood, visiting family in Belmont and Newcastle.

Remember that you said you just wanted to retire and take photo’s…….well, I think it’s a definite possibility if you keep this up. Fantastic capture – well done!

  • Thanks Sonia – I wish I had the courage to do just that – all I need is a million dollar contract to fit out a motel or something similar – I’d be happy!

  • I meant to say that when I was in my teens I was a bit of a surfie girl and it would be nice to revert back to just sitting on the beach taking photos all day – bring it on!
