Abandoned Railway Carriage - Premer NSW Australia by

I do have a fascination for old railway lines, stations, carriages and trains. It’s so sad to see them in such neglect these days. Many of our country towns were built around the railway and today you can almost write your own story of why these towns are now in decline. This image was captured in Premer NSW on the road between Dunedoo and Quirindi where we followed a disused railway line for much of the first part of the trip to Coolah. At Premer there is still one line in use however the other two lines remain overgrown and rusty. Likewise the old railway station building is now occupied by the local birds … at least you could say the building is ‘still in use’. The sky was very threatening however there was no rain so I was thankful for the even light and the interesting sky.

The clouds sure add some ‘moody’ !!! Well taken and processed Bev

  • Thank you Rosalie … I was playing around with my white balance settings on this trip and was pleased with the moody colours I achieved♥

Great shot Bev and the colours are very vibrant. It is sad to see these old stations and sidings in neglect.

  • Thanks Terry … the overcast and even light helped with this plus a little tweek and play around with white balance settings to enhance the dry grasses. It is sad to see all these abandoned railway areas but I do love finding them and capturing them♥
