I do have a fascination for old railway lines, stations, carriages and trains. It’s so sad to see them in such neglect these days. Many of our country towns were built around the railway and today you can almost write your own story of why these towns are now in decline. This image was captured in Premer NSW on the road between Dunedoo and Quirindi where we followed a disused railway line for much of the first part of the trip to Coolah. At Premer there is still one line in use however the other two lines remain overgrown and rusty. Likewise the old railway station building is now occupied by the local birds … at least you could say the building is ‘still in use’. The sky was very threatening however there was no rain so I was thankful for the even light and the interesting sky.
