Lizard Eye by

This is an image I created while living in Florida. It is part of my reptile series, as cold-blooded creatures seemed to reside in every nook and cranny i came across. It was painted in watercolor and then details added in pen and ink. Probably the most detailed image I’ve ever done.

beautiful! Do you still live in FL?

  • Hi Susan,
Thanks for your wonderful comment. No, I now live in Illinois where the wildest things are cows and corn. Actually, we have some nice preserves around here where I can still find snakes and frogs. Still, Florida had magic and mystery that satisfied my creative urges.

    Hi Ming,
Thank you so much for your kind words I so appreciate them.
Yes, this image was painted when I really tried to capture every detail I could in the subject. (Was quite into realism, yet the colors here gave it a fantasy/whimsical touch which I wanted to convey. Yes, that eye is so big I imagine you can see his curious nature, eyes are windows to the soul!

    Hi All,
Thank you much for your kind words and support. I just started RedBubble a day ago and already I feel so at home. So many new artist friends in my life, what more could I want. Except maybe to keep the creative fire and passion alive so I can continue to do what I love to do. Nature so inspires me and the creatures that inhabit this world are marvelous.
I hope to go check out each of your galleries now that I have settled into the RedBubble community. So many groups to explore, the choices seem endless!

    superb……bright colours….

  • Thank you for stopping by here. The brighter the colors, the happier I am when I create. Seems to make for a more “eye-popping” composition, so to speak! Will visit your site shortly.
