This is a painting of my client’s three grandchildren searching for crabs after the tide had gone out. They are beautiful children and a delight to paint.

Painting is such an integral part of my personality and my life. I find much joy and satisfaction in the process, and if the results are pleasing then I am also gratified, but I must admit it is the process that intrigues me and sparks my creative juices.
I paint primarily in watercolour but love to experiment with other media, especially in combination with my watercolour. I would be honoured if you were inclined to take the time to browse through my work.

We know if they got their grandmother’s looks they have to be gorgeous children. Lovely painting Bev.

  • They are not my grandchildren, Jim, but I wish they were. Thanks for the kind words.

My first reaction to this is just a feeling of melting into the joy of the moment, as you’ve expressed so well in the flow of colors in the water and the postures of the children within the setting. At least some of that is a very personal reaction, as I loved the seashore when I was small (and still do) and thus relate easily to this beautiful moment. Once again I’m struck by how well you use color to convey emotion.

  • As always, Celeste, your comments are so carefully and beautifully worded. I do appreciate so much the time you take to make them. Thank you.

Bev I love the intensity you’ve captured in their expressions and posture and the movement in the water as it swishes in and out is wonderful . . .you really are a very talented lady . . .x

  • Thank you, Teresa. You are always so supportive.
