Watercolour and Ink on 140 lb Arches cold press.
This is a painting of a lovely historic house built in the Georgian style and located within walking distance of our house. It was built by Samuel Mercer, originally from Pensylvania, in 1820 and is believed to have been used as an Inn or a way station for travelling soldiers. It sits on a hill and is now surrounded by homes that were built in the 1960’s. All subsequent owners have worked to keep the original character of the building and it is a constant reminder of the history of our area. Original- SOLD

Painting is such an integral part of my personality and my life. I find much joy and satisfaction in the process, and if the results are pleasing then I am also gratified, but I must admit it is the process that intrigues me and sparks my creative juices.
I paint primarily in watercolour but love to experiment with other media, especially in combination with my watercolour. I would be honoured if you were inclined to take the time to browse through my work.

Also love Pen & Ink with watercolours. This is very pretty work Bev. Believe it or not, in a time before desktop computers, I did a real good business with local realtors doing architectural rendering in Pen & Ink with watercolour washes. I kinda miss those days sometimes.
Thanks, Jim. I would love to see some of your architectural renderings if you still have them.

I like the way the foreground washes drift up to the steps up to the house.. It great that the owners have kept it`s character.
Thanks so much, Val. I think the Toronto Historical Board really encourages and guides people with respect to renovating or updating historic homes, so that the true character remains.
