Soft pastel over a watercolour underpainting on 140 lb. Arches cold press.
I am still experimenting with the combination of watercolour and pastel. I had intended to leave more watercolour visible in this piece, but as usual, got carried away. I think my next piece will be on the sanded colourfix paper, so I can compare the ease of working and the results with those of the combination of watercolour and pastel as shown here.

Painting is such an integral part of my personality and my life. I find much joy and satisfaction in the process, and if the results are pleasing then I am also gratified, but I must admit it is the process that intrigues me and sparks my creative juices.
I paint primarily in watercolour but love to experiment with other media, especially in combination with my watercolour. I would be honoured if you were inclined to take the time to browse through my work.

This is very nice, Bev, and a real departure from the cold windblown watercolors of late…are you having some warmer weather or is it wishful thinking? Sally

  • It is bitter cold here, Sally. That’s why I felt the need to paint a beach scene. Thanks for dropping by.
