"All at once I saw a host" by

Watercolour (Winsor & Newton) on 140 lb. Arches cold press paper.

These harbingers of spring were painted using the negative painting method, and my hope was to keep it simple and not get carried away with detail as I am known to do.

Painting is such an integral part of my personality and my life. I find much joy and satisfaction in the process, and if the results are pleasing then I am also gratified, but I must admit it is the process that intrigues me and sparks my creative juices.
I paint primarily in watercolour but love to experiment with other media, especially in combination with my watercolour. I would be honoured if you were inclined to take the time to browse through my work.

Bev – this is so beautiful and such a welcome reminder that Spring is on its way.

  • Thank you, Anna. It is hard to believe at times that spring is on the way, but painting spring flowers certainly helps remind me of its coming.

Well this is done just perfectly Bev. In reference to your “fear of overworking” comment in your narrative, I’ve not seen anything of yours that I would have put in that catagory.

  • Jim, you always say the right thing. Thanks again. You are such a kind person.

gorgeous work Bev…so delicate and pretty.

  • Thank you, Linda. Sometimes I am afraid I have gone too soft and almost insipid. I appreciate your support.

Wow, this is probably your most delicate work to date, and you specialise in delicacy!! This is lovely, almost misty or ghostly, just so beautiful!

  • Thanks, Alexandra. As I mentioned to Linda, I hope it isn’t too delicate. The title should have been “All at once I saw a ghost”LOL.
