Bram Stoker's Whitby by bevmorgan

Watercolour on 140lb. Arches Cold Press.
This painting was done primarily in negative painting and represents the town of Whitby in England in which Bram Stoker set part of his novel “Dracula” It is a favourite destination of mine and the fish and chips at the Magpie are amazing.

Painting is such an integral part of my personality and my life. I find much joy and satisfaction in the process, and if the results are pleasing then I am also gratified, but I must admit it is the process that intrigues me and sparks my creative juices.
I paint primarily in watercolour but love to experiment with other media, especially in combination with my watercolour. I would be honoured if you were inclined to take the time to browse through my work.

Bev, you are a BRILLIANT artist! This is so ‘dreamy’, unusual, great colours and the light and shade is fabulous. It should go into the buildings and architecture group too.

  • You are so good for my ego, Lynda. Thanks so much for being so supportive.

& bring it to the EEG too!!!
Telling us that it’s how you see it because of Bram Stoker’s Dracula spin on it turns it into an Ekphrasis!
But regardless of who inspired you & how you interpreted that inspiration this is a STUNNING piece of art!
    ☼ BRAVO!! ☼

  • Thanks so very much for the wonderful comment and I will check out EEG. You are so kind.

lovely artwork Bev, I like at times fewer colours and it is dinner time here so I must feed my husband!

  • Thank you, Gloria. My husband has given up asking about dinner. When I am painting, dinner time does not exist.
