Gouache on Terraskin paper
I never tire of painting scenes from our east coast provinces. The call of the sea is strong for me and these settings lend themselves so well to the use of shape and colour. I chose not to add ink this time, as I wanted the shapes to stand alone without the benefit of line work.

Painting is such an integral part of my personality and my life. I find much joy and satisfaction in the process, and if the results are pleasing then I am also gratified, but I must admit it is the process that intrigues me and sparks my creative juices.
I paint primarily in watercolour but love to experiment with other media, especially in combination with my watercolour. I would be honoured if you were inclined to take the time to browse through my work.

Absolutely charming! The scene also reminds me of New England, especially Maine. I like the way the blocks of color (especially the reds) lead the eye on a meandering trip through the scene. A wonderful painting with a lot of personality.

  • Thank you, Celeste. Your comment is a reassurance that perhaps I am on the right path, as doubt always has a tendency of creeping in when you don’t expect it. Your comments are always valued and welcome.
