This is a group of buildings right on the edge of the water in Whitby, North Yorkshire. We have never stayed in Whitby but tend to visit every time we are in Helmsley. There is always a hustle and bustle to the place as tourists, and school groups visit the Whitby Abbey and the surrounding town. This, of course, was the location for parts of Bram Stoker’s "Dracula". The weather certainly lends itself to the mood of such a novel.

Painting is such an integral part of my personality and my life. I find much joy and satisfaction in the process, and if the results are pleasing then I am also gratified, but I must admit it is the process that intrigues me and sparks my creative juices.
I paint primarily in watercolour but love to experiment with other media, especially in combination with my watercolour. I would be honoured if you were inclined to take the time to browse through my work.

Oh lovely Bev. Such a fave spot to visit. Meant to go last week………….far too cold on the coast just now!! Did you know that some of the little houses at the top had to be demolished recently due to landslips and some bones by the abbey were exposed.

  • Thanks so much, Val, for the kind words and the information about the landslide. Sad news indeed.
