The meaning of the Lily of the Valley:

Return of happiness, purity of heart, sweetness, tears of the Virgin Mary, you’ve made my life complete, humility, happiness, love’s good fortune. The legend of the lily of the valley is that it sprang from Eve’s tears when she was kicked out of the Garden of Eden. It is also believed that this flower protects gardens from evil spirits. Also known as the flower of May.

Lovely Image Beverly. I have lots of images of Lily of the Valley but as I’m in southern Australia it flowers in October and is known here in Victoria, as the ’Caulfield Cup Day Flower". That is a major horse race, coming up on 15 Oct 2011. It is interesting to see the different slant we put on these things in various parts of the world. Cheers, Beverley (Bev)
