Snow Geese in flight blur by

During my week in Bosque del Apache, I was experimenting with blurs which are ALOT harder than they look. The trick is to use a slow shutter speed, around 1/30th of a second and pan trying to keep the head in focus and creating a nice blur with the wings. I had lots of throw aways, but managed to get a few that I liked.

Very nicely done Betty! I’ve read that one of the differences between pros and amateurs is the size of the wastebasket.

Lovely technique – I’ve yet to successfully photograph a flying bird let alone add blur effect!!
