Sunrise at Bosque by

I have been away (again) as I spent a wonderful week at Bosque del Apache Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. I had always wanted to visit as it’s a stopover spot for sandhill cranes and snow geese. The congregate by the thousands – there were nearly 40,000 snow geese and nearly 10,000 sandhill cranes at Bosque that week. It’s an amazing place – this is a typical sight at sunrise as the birds take off from the ponds (where they spend the night) as they fly to the farm fields to feed.
