Color is the key to my art. Within its patterns are subtle shifts and anomalies. I imagine the prints filling a large wall where they engage viewers. Even when the work is abstract, it may be about nature or human nature. Some people find my work somewhat musical. I work digitally and enjoy the color explorations and image variations that can be made so easily in Photoshop and other programs, but I also am a photographer. My work in all media is about seeing and trying to understand the nature of the world. It’s my hope that the work will enhance people’s work and living spaces in an inspiring and thought provoking way.
BIOGRAPHY: In addition to being an artist I am a gardener and was the lead writer for the book “The Gardener’s Home Companion” published by Macmillan. I publish rock, regional, fairy, citrus, and herb garden books at B. B. Mackey Books (www.mackeybooks.com).
