To think I finally got a photograph of a bald eagle, in my favorite of all snags, along the Burnt River Canyon near Unity Lake in northeastern Oregon.

The snow was falling, the eagle had just landed on the snag after flying through the river canyon in front of us driving along on highway 245. This is probably why it didn’t fly off when we stopped to take the photographs. Sometimes timing is everything when it comes to photography.
