She walks past him every other day
For two and a half years she greets … sometimes pauses for a brief exchange … and carries on going
He sees her walking past every other day
For 30 months he greets, chats … or invites her to meet … yet she always carries on going
He repeatedly opens doors to other dimensions
She smiles yet keeps on moving only on this plane
Like stick-men in black and white they go through the motions
Secretly she yearns for more colour and vibrance, more depth and shape to all of her encounters
Silently he senses they share a yearning and patiently waits for her to accept his invitations

One day, with little warning, she steps through a door, she smiles and joins him … the unexpected delight … he takes her hand and leads her to dance … the lines of her rules fall away and she swims giddy in the sea of potential … he sees her joyful abandon and in fright raises his walls. He does his best to contain her, contain the situation!

With stunned surprise she sees what they have done:
She released her linear dimension … she gave herself over to the lure of colour and vibrance, more depth and shape … yet found herself contained in his single dimension.
His lines and rules firmly in place.
Like stick-men in black and white they go through the motions
With dismay she looks at him, her creator of dimensions …
… revealed as deleter of dimensions …

And gently it dawns on her …
… she must create her own world of colour and vibrance … more depth and shape … release the lines and rules …
… so that she can swim giddy in the sea of potential …
… be the creator of her own dimensions …

inspired by the perpetual human dynamic … like a pendulum swinging between extremes … between the grip of fear and the release of love … it is all around, in every single interaction

I’m in love with life and have found photography to be a richly rewarding medium within which to capture precious and fleeting moments and feelings. Because I know from first hand experience that time is fleeting and moments pass, I make the most of every situation and open myself to the richness of every experience. I hope that this is expressed in the images I create and share :) Visit me at SeeOneSoulPhotography.co.za

    Beautiful words.
    Perpetual human dynamic.
Happens every day. To every human being. Forever.
So why does it hurt ? Why does it still hurt ?
They say, what did not kill you makes you stronger. It has to be true. Because what did not kill you the first time hurts you more the next time, and again, and again… And yet we are still alive. But are we really ?
Then it’s all meant for artistic sublimation, great ! Sometimes we don’t feel strong enough…
Thank you for all your lovely sublimations.

  • hmmmm yes … someone mentioned the other day that “if you do what you’ve always done, you get what you’ve always got” … and so it is with everything, including our human interactions … we place hope outside of ourselves, we think the answers come from outside of ourselves … we think the solutions are somewhere “out there” … or to be expressed via another person … … and so … as long we hold that belief, then the reality we perceive will continue to follow similar cycles …
Time for a different approach, I think :) and time to let go … … time for so many things (for me anyway ;) … ) … and then, somehow, the hurt of the past stays in the past … and the experience of today feels fresh and new … and through how it feels, we learn a new approach … or more of the same … just depending what we want :)

Thank you, Helene, for stropping in, for taking the time not just to read, but also take in and feel … and respond :) I do appreciate it so much :)

Be blessed for your ever open smile Tina. You are right indeed, time for a new approach. As you say all is a question of interaction and it is to be wished that everyone would realize it. If only one side changes its vision, while another one keeps sticking to its prejudices and selfishness, no wonder it doesn’t work so well… (actually my interrogation participates in a more general mood, making me wonder if Mother Nature has been fired from her job recently, considering the survival hopes of our good old planet these days…). Your words were itching a sensitive string, I’d rather stick to images, always improves my mood. Thanks again to you.
